What Is It Like Working
With Basin Wealth Management?
Because we believe strongly in the integration of taxes and investments, all of our clients meet with us at least three times per year.
Our Process Typically Includes:
Step 1: End-of-Year Tax Planning
In November or December, we will conduct a meeting where we project next year’s tax situation and determine what steps we should make by the end of the year to help you achieve your goals.
Step 2: Tax Preparation
We will prepare your federal income tax return, which includes an analysis of this year’s tax return, recommendations for any qualified retirement plan contributions, and feedback on how your investments impacted the tax return.
Step 3: Mid-Year Check-Up
Beginning in May, we like to hold meetings in which we discuss other (non-tax and non-investment) issues to see if there are any gaps or missing pieces in your financial life.
This is where we answer questions such as:
“I’m thinking about quitting my job and starting my own business. I know I need an LLC, I need to replace my employee benefits, and figure out how to keep records, but I don’t know how to start. Can you help me?”
“Should I start taking Social Security now or should I wait a few more years?”
“I would like to give some money to my children, parents, church, etc. What’s the best way to do that?”
We believe that although these questions aren’t specifically tax- or investment-related, if they’re important to you then they are important to us. At the end of the day, you are more than just a tax return and an investment account.
Our Approach Is Deeply Tailored
To Who You Are & the Goals You Have in Mind
At Basin Wealth Management, we’re not here to sell products or offer advice that doesn’t apply to you. We aim to get to know you, learn about your interests and goals, and offer recommendations based on how in-depth you’d like our relationship to be. It all starts with a conversation.
